Here is another page that is woefully outdated: http://www.summitpost.org/pisco/150282

Having climbed it, I wish to adopt the Pisco page. It's a beautiful mountain deserving an adeguate page.

Alberto

The page is yours. I'm looking forward to seeing the improvements.

This page on Long Canyon Road is basically empty. It has had no votes after 2 years:

http://www.summitpost.org/long-canyon-moab-area/790551

I called the owner and asked him to share the page with me. This is our conversation:

Thanks for the reply,

For me to be able to change the content of the page, you must click on "Change Privileges" in the orange bar on top of the page, search for my name "nader" and put me as owner. You will continue to remain part owner of the page and will continue to be able to revise it.

I did not hear anything after that. Is this page worth saving as is? should I just create a new page?

The fact that that page exists doesn't stop you from posting a route page, because that page is actually a custom object and therefore the rule against duplicate route pages doesn't come into play. Frankly, I don't see anything useful about that custom page (and I must say that I don't see much purpose in describing a route that simply follows a road anyway), and if it actually were a route page, I would rather see it deleted. However, custom objects on SP are basically left to their own devices, even useless ones.

The page is a custom object.

I am curious as to what your plans for the are? Long Canyon is just a road (and a high traffic dirt road at that). I don't see what the point of a route or canyon page for it would be, so I would be curious as to what the plans for the page would be.

The only reason that the submissions from that member are tolerated is because they are custom objects. Otherwise, they would be deleted. Long Canyon is not an appropriate route, mountain, or canyon page (unless you were putting beta up on the rock climbing routes-there is good rock climbing there), but could be mentioned in the Getting There section of Island in the Sky or something.

Anyway, you have privileges now.

Not a single update for almost ...9 years here: http://www.summitpost.org/siroka/155065

It deserves much more attention from the author... and yes, it's one of the most beloved mountains of mine.

The owner of that page has not been active for years, so if you want to adopt it, just ask and you'll get it.

The Crooks Tower page for the Black Hills http://www.summitpost.org/crooks-tower/807262 needs some serious work. The information is scant and there is a "Getting There" error, plus the coordinates are off about 15 miles or so. SP member Jeremy Hakes contacted the page owner back in 2012 and offered to help with the page, but nothing was done by the owner. I sent a PM earlier this year, but still no action or response. If the owner will not give this summit the attention it deserves, the page should be put up for adoption. If you do decide to put it up for adoption, please add me to your list of those willing to upgrade this page. Thanks!

When did you send your PM? The last time he was logged in was July 31.

I sent him a PM on July 2 with some things he could use to upgrade the page.

The author of this page hasn't updated it since 2007 and hasn't logged in since 2011. I've e-mailed her but not heard back. I have the twin of this peak (Petit Piton) and could update and improve this one:

It's safe to say that the member is gone. I was going to ask you if you would be willing to update it and if not, I was thinking of fixing up the page as well, as soon as I get back from climbing it next month. It appears that you will save me the trouble.

I'll give it an upgrade this weekend. I'm definitely game for you to co-own, add photos, whatever--see whether you feel inspired after you've been there, and if you do, add yourself on as well. I think you and I have done fine with the joint upgrade of the mountain we have on Dominica, although you've done the lion's share of the work on that one. I should be more helpful with Gros Piton.

I hope I'm not writing this in the wrong place in the forums. I couldn't see any other logical place to place this message, though...
I'm a bit amazed at how little reaction there was to the following page:

http://www.summitpost.org/vittorio-sell ... ram/934814

created and posted by SP member om (http://www.summitpost.org/users/om/383). Vittorio Sella was one of the most skilled photographers of his day, and apart from this album being a fantastic historical document, also very interesting for glaciologists (all the photos were taken in 1909), the quality and detail Vittorio Sella managed to achieve in these pictures, considering the comparatively modest means one still had in those days, is many times simply amazing!! I felt it necessary to point this out, as I find SummitPost has received a very valuable contribution here!
