Off-Route is still there; I just hid it from visitors, so if you're not logged in, you won't see it (though there have sometimes been exceptions to that).

No, I understand. But it wasn't visible to me when I was logged in.

I *could* find it by search -- uh, "Drunk summitposting" -- and then access the Off-Route board. But when I went up the menu to the Board Index, Off-Route was still not visible.

Weird stuff, and completely unconnected to the snifter of brandy I was enjoying at the time.

What's it doing now? Maybe you were logged in when I made the change and you had to log out and back in first. I really don't know. So let me know if it's still the case. Others are posting there today and have not said anything about this.

I've just returned from traveling, so I may have missed the memo on this, but it looks as though the headline font size for sections of mountain pages (e.g., "Getting There") has been changed across the board. With my pages, this has caused them to display in odd ways, and I guess I'll have to go into every one of them and do some editing till they look ok again. Before I spend a lot of time doing that, can you tell me if this was a deliberate change, and is it permanent?

Never mind. Either it was a transient problem with SP or with my machine, but the font sizes are normal for me now and the formatting is back to what it was before.

"You may embed only 3 quotes within each other."

This seems to be a new restriction. Or bug?

I don't know if that qualifies as a bug, but i noticed:

Photo upload is tremendously lower than used to be just a couple months ago.

Is it okay or people are been economic about it?

I find that very weird!

I got an email from a member (A-LEX) asking about a pack that I have. I could not find this member with the search function and it seems the name does not exist. I could not respond to the email because it came from the no-reply@summitpost and it never came as a message to my inbox. Not sure if this is a bug.

Nearly all Gear pages except the category index display either

process_query_form() failed: DB Error: no such field

or

display_object() failed: DB Error: no such field

Vertical picture being distorted

by ZeeJay » Tue Dec 07, 2010 8:25 pm

I paged through an old TR of mine and noticed that one of my pictures is being obviously distorted. It is a vertical picture side by side a horizontal picture and the vertical picture is being squished. It didn't used to be like that. If the vertical picture is by itself, it comes out ok.

You can observe the behavior by clicking the link below.

This isn't a permanent solution, probably still needs to be ultimately corrected on the code side, nor is this a great solution if you have this problem on dozens of pages.

but if you want to go ahead and correct for just this page, you can use the code below.
Code: Select all
<div class='thumb tleft'><div style='width:502px;'><a href='/view_object.php?object_id=535583'><img width='500' src='/images/medium/535583.jpg'></img></a><div class='thumbcaption'><div class='magnify' style='float: right;'><a href='/view_object.php?object_id= 535583' title='Enlarge'><img src='/images/layout/abby/magnify.gif' alt='Enlarge'></img></a></div>Michael about half way through the ridge</div></div></div>[img:536185:alignright:medium:Michael approaching the summit of Tokewanna]

You can even use similar code to make the images the same height, without distortion, but in this case it is slightly pixelated.
Code: Select all
<div class='thumb tleft'><div style='width:287px;'><a href='/view_object.php?object_id=535583'><img width='285' src='/images/medium/535583.jpg'></img></a><div class='thumbcaption'><div class='magnify' style='float: right;'><a href='/view_object.php?object_id= 535583' title='Enlarge'><img src='/images/layout/abby/magnify.gif' alt='Enlarge'></img></a></div>Michael about half way through the ridge</div></div></div>[img:536185:alignright:medium:Michael approaching the summit of Tokewanna]

You can see them here (for the time being)
