Me too! I would wait a few weeks. Snowmaking is on in Loveland and A-Basin so the race is on to open first! I think in a month there might be decent conditions at those places.

I was hoping for some place a little more... non-resorty... san juans holding any snow?

It has been warm in Colorado for months (about 10F above normal) Only recently has some ranges gotten some snow, mostly above 11k ft. and temperatures got low enough for snowmaking to begin at very few resorts for a few days. Freezing levels rose up again and probably will stay in the 12-14k FT range for days in most of Colorado but specially in SW Co.

Central and northern Co will get a few days with freezing levels in the 10-12K FT range but not many. (Jet Stream is mainly dipping in the east with ridging in the west).

Basically if you want to ski before mid to late Nov. I think the only options are resorts that have already started snowmaking.

The road up to Montezuma Basin(Castle Peak) is still open....

Definitely some hike-to stuff along the Divide. I didn't have my rock skis with me this weekend, otherwise I might think about hitting it up tomorrow morning.

Loveland will open tomorrow (Sunday) most likely and Arapahoe Basin will open on Monday. The Divide area around there got a good 6in+ of snow (at least above 10k ft from what I see on the web cams) and more on the way. I think this storm focused on central and northern Co. But I think most of the high country in most of Co. got some snow.
