Built in 1505,
Mănăstirea Polovragi is a convent for nuns. The temple is built in the byzantine style and its mural paintings were executed by renowned masters of the Brancoveanu school from Horezu.
I hear the voices of nuns during Holy Mass and try to pray in the garden. I pick up my backpack with recharged batteries, refill my bottle with fresh water and receive an invitation to have a lunch. What a welcome service for tired pilgrim! My thanksgiving and farewell to willing nun...
