Re: Rose of Alabama ?Thanks Tomek,
I think you are joking, but I'll answer it anyway. No, she is not "Rose of Alabama. She's just a climber named Rose, and climbing in a beautiful area called Alabama Hills.
Thanks for the visit Tomek,
Marc

Re: USYes, a U.S. 10d. It comes after 10c, and before 11a. She is already past the crux. I did this climb about three years ago, and it felt great.

Re: USI respect rocks at any difficulty grade. I once nearly got killed soloing a 5.6. Those were my soloing days. You don't catch me dead soloing anything now, and if you do, I must already be dead.

Re: USLOL I just wonder what a 5.15 can be.

Re: USOkay, this is not a 5.15, but a 14D. It should give you some idea. The climber is Chris Sharma, one of the best climbers in the world, and the coolest guy you could ever meet.
Dream Catcher, 14d

For more of his awesome climbs go to youtube and punch in Chris Sharma.

Excuse me ...How long has Rose been climbing, Marc ???
Marcsoltan - Mar 8, 2009 10:09 pm - Hasn't voted
Re: Excuse me ...Believe it or not, for only two years. But, she is young, strong and pretty tall. It also helps that she has a top rope belay.
Thanks for the visit Larry,
Marc

Re: Excuse me ...That little movie was worth seeing really. In my view, the best thing about (mainly the above 5.5:)) climbing is that it develops the whole body harmoniously. Plus that's also a problem-solving activity (even below 5.5:)). What I didn't quite like about 'technical' climbing was the discordant noises of the hammers but that's practically long gone now.
Cheers
Jacek
