| Been in J-Tree countless times, but never bothered to hike anything because I was always climbing. The closest I ever got was climbing Walk on the Wild Side on Saddle Rocks which juts out from the Ryan Mountain 'massif'. Finally was with some friends, or we didn't feel like climbing or something, and away we went. My main objective was to peer into the Wonderland of Rocks in which I had been semi-lost while looking for popular and obscure climbs. Alas, the ravine blocks the view, but the views down upon the clusters of granite all over the flat desert floor is what makes this otherwise bland desert hill a great little venture. | |

| Nice little mountain, but beware of hoards of tourists. I've hiked/run up Ryan Mountain probably 15-20 times. It was a good morning warmup when I used to live in the Park. | |

| Matthew and I cross-countried this from Ryan campground, as directly as we could. We came down the same way.Great views from the summit. | |

| Great short hike. Plenty of beautiful desert scenery along the way and spectacular views of SoCal's top two highpoints from the summit. | |
