We could probably touch the deer if we really wanted to. Nice hike, great views of the park....you could see the hundreds of tour buses in the Village parking lot. ;-)

A short and easy walk, just right one day after the walk to half dome.

This is an easy hike with a great panoramic view of Yosemite. I did this in combination with Taft Point.

Just arrived from the snow of Shasta and Lassen, we reached this singular point of view. Me, Marantz and Paglia. Nice weather.

nice short hike with a scramble at the end, and the type of views for which Yosemite is famous...

Hiked up with Shelby on a day trip to Yosemite. First time in Yosemite and only had a day to see the whole park, impossible, yes. This was a great place to see a large portion of it though. Amazed, and dissapointed with the crowds even on a Wednesday that started with a snowy morning!?! On a crowded day actually had the dome to ourselves for our stay.

This is a fun hike, with great views. My wife and I always go here when we are in Yosmeite. I can't wait to take my son here.

Unbelievable view. Nowhere else in the park can you see El Cap, Half Dome, Clouds Rest and the High Sierra Peaks of Yosemite better than here. We could even see out ultimate destination in the park too! Mt. Lyell.

Hiked with my 4-month old daughter Claire in her Baby Bjorn. Her first multipitch climb. Very strenuous for the grade.

2nd time up here, continued on to Taft Point, and down to the Wawona Tunnel. The hike from Taft Point on was real nice, very few tourists, about 13 miles total.

This has to be one of the best short hikes in Yosemite! The views are great and the trail is only 2.2 miles roundtrip. Everyone who visits this great park should take the time to hike this trail. We loved it! And don't miss Taft Point also(at the same trailhead), great views from there as well. Check out our photos and report on our website:

Natural Born Hikers

THe trail is under our MOUNTAINS section. Thanks.

This is a great "bang for the buck" in terms of scenery (awesome) vs. effort to get there (easy.) Nice 360 degree view of everything when you get to the top. I was disappointed that the gnarled pine tree is in such bad shape. There were around 8-10 people on top, not bad compared to all the hordes at Glacier Point.

We spent the night on the summit, though I can't vouch for the legality of it. We bivied, no tents, food, or camping gear, just a couple bags on the ground, no 'improving'. If you want to try it I suggest similiar tactics so Ranger Bob doesn't start patrolling and give you the boot. We also came in late at night and left before the first tourists arrived with their monster cameras. Sitting in the full moon, with the waterfalls roaring in the distance makes this 'summit' worthwhile.

This is a easy hike via a short trail that leads to the base of the dome and a short scramble takes you to the top. The views on top are outstanding, you have 360 degree views of everything to behold.

On both occassions, there weren't much crowds as the area has a lot of hikes and although this is an easy one, you may have to share the top with only a few other groups during the weekend.

Unfortunately, I remember nothing about this hike other than the fact that I did it and there was an old tree on top.
