Interesting "saying" about their face evolved so that they hear the sound rats make. Well, I'm not sure about that because I don't have a face like that and I can hear the sound that rats make. May be I'm part a barn owl!
Coyotes have no fine hairs and no satellite dish faces yet they hear, with pin-point accuracy, a mouse three feet under the snow. It takes that kind of sensory perception for an animal to survive in the wilderness.
