Skiing the Twin Couloirs | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
My wife skiing the eastern Twin Couloir, Deseret Peak, Stansbury Range, Utah. 6-5-2010. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | lcarreau | Holy Toledo ... | |
Voted 10/10 | I was looking at this from one of those
distance ridgetops to the north, enroute to
South Willow Lake.
It's amazing how late in the year the snow
remains inside those Couloirs. GREAT SHOT !!! | | Posted Jul 24, 2011 4:43 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Yes, the worst part now would be standing
upon a collapsing snow bridge.
According to my brother, there's a field
of snow above the lake measuring 35' deep. | | Posted Jul 26, 2011 1:36 pm |

Hasn't voted | 35 feet? Amazing, but it doesn't really surprise me. I wanted to get back up there earlier in the season, but as of July 10th, the road was still closed off due to flash flood danger a few miles from the Loop Campground. This late, stout snowpack is so odd this year. Must be complete mank after the past few weeks of sun. | | Posted Jul 26, 2011 2:08 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Correct - fact is, there's still enough
"manky" stuff (left) up there to create a
"permanent" snow-field for the future ..
Or, at least the foundation for one. | | Posted Jul 26, 2011 7:50 pm |
