Re: That seems likeAww, thank you, but I'm not really an expert on Californian flora. SP member tarol has a lot of knowledge on flora of this state.
This cactus is from a prickly pear family for sure, but I can't pinpoint the exact species. My wild guess would be an Opuntia fragilis- Brittle Prickly Pear- very small and cold-hardy species.
