| Such a fun scrambling route. There's a very brief knife edge section, awesome. | ||

| Outstanding scramble! It was fun, and I never felt in any real danger the whole way. Definitely some class 3 spots, with one 100-foot section near the top bordering on lowend class 4 (exposure). Left the car just before 3:30pm and returned after 7:30pm.....took 1 1/2 hrs to reach the top of the arete but only 35-40 min down :) It's amazing that this route is nontechnical, since from a distance it looks unclimbable without climbing equipment. Made it to the true summit of EL Cajon - views were decent, although a bit hazy. Nice cool and windy day with temps in the 60's - perfect for this kind of scramble! | ||

| Another spur of the moment day trip while in San Diego. The South Arete of ECM was a blast! Did it in ~ 3.5 hrs roundtrip. | ||

| I didn't know San Diego had routes like this. Hard to find a decent scramble here. Seemed really easy for class 3, even when trying to go for harder stuff. Still very fun. | ||

| Fun climb with views past Point Loma. Lots of class 2 stuff and a few class 3 sections. If you stick to the top of the ridge there are a couple of class 4 moves with a bit of exposure, but most of the route is class 2/3. | ||
