Approach

The approach to Middle Fork Lake is given in the Getting There section on the main page.

Route Description

From Middle Fork Lake, head south along the banks of Lee Lake and contour up the east side of the valley, fighting willows to Noel Lake directly below Nylon Peak. From here follow the gentle slopes south along grass and talus to the point at 12,166 ft named on the USGS map as Bailey Peak. You can now see the true summit further along the ridge. To reach this, drop onto the left side of the ridge and scramble up several ledges (third class) until you reach the top.

Essential Gear

Standard hiking gear is all that is necessary, while backbacking gear is needed for the approach.

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
