| Moved north from Texas, found work as a seasonal firefighter with the Gifford Pinchot National Forest out of Packwood. Local climber / hiker invited me along for an early summer trek to this peak. Crossing one of the steeper snowfileds I learned first hand how to self-arrest with an iceaxe. Thanks for posting. Great memories... | |

| No snow at the time I did the hike, which was approximately 25 years ago with the Tacoma Mountaineers. We had to ascend in clouds. The only photo I found from the trip was taken from Impie's Nest. The trailhead is next to a waterway called 'Hinkle Tinkle.' On that day, there was just one other male besides myself on the hike. I saw him lagging back, and asked him what the problem was. He said he had to 'tinkle' near Hinkle Tinkle! | |

| Some sketchy snow still lingering in the gullies on the west flank of Tatoosh -- easy cross-country hiking up the "west ridge" to the summit. | |
