Telescope Summit 3-25-10
Camped at Mahogany Flats, did our climb on March 25th. 10 hours round trip. Long day, mixed terrain. Ice axe and crampons are a must for the final ridge- hard pack snow about 2 inches deep with ice underneath. Crampons needed in the AM about .75 miles out of the trailhead for a short distance, after that on south facing trail, no snow. I reccomend going over the summit of Mt. Bennet instead of around it on the trail.Great peak, good climb. Be prepared, allow lots of time.
