The huge East Face (actually,...

The huge East Face (actually, it faces ENE but why quibble) of Wheeler Peak as seen from The Pinnacle on July 4, 2003. The Pinnacle looks like a horn of uncertain climbing ease from the north but it's more like a level fin. An exposed class 3 scramble of a 100 feet or so along the level fin gets you to its top. But don't linger too long for it seems with one vigorous stomp you could bring the whole thing down.
