The Queen

The graceful Danaus gilippus I took this photo in Pine Creek area of Red Rocks, Nevada on September 28, 2007. Queens are found from the extreme southern U.S.A. to South America. They are generally found in open habitats. They visit a wide variety of flowers to sip nectar. Nectar is all that an adult Queen needs.
