Re: YEAH ..Hey thanks Larry. These spires are actually named after a different kind of "raker". The Rakers were given their name back in 1927 by Forest Service map maker Arval Anderson because they resembled the raker teeth on a cross-cut saw.

Re: YEAH ..By golly, I used a cross-cut saw back in the 1980s, when I was building trail and removing "blow-downs" off a portion of the PCT in Washington state.
