The West Arete is finally in...
The West Arete is finally in sight. Pass under the foreground buttress (the SW arete) to the slightly higher one beyond. You can see how the foot of the arete is split; start at the nearer toe (6,000' elev.). Climb it to the first ledge (You can see the snow on it from here.), then two pitches up the chimney / gully to the main ridgecrest on the skyline.
