Three Bald Mountains
The Bald Mountains, as seen from Red Feather Lakes Road east of Red Feather Lakes. From left to right: Unnamed Peak 10,884' (aka "Southeast Bald Mountain"), Unnamed Peak 10,775', South Bald Mountain, Middle Bald Mountain (the most bald), and North Bald Mountain (hardly bald at all.)

Just change the dry grasses to ferns. Substitue large white pines and few hemlocks/spruce big toothed aspen and birch...

I've never been to northern Maine, but its remoteness and wildness are attractive. Hopefully one day I can go there to see how similar it looks to the Bald Mountains.
