Nice!

Thanks for a great report, Paul. I noticed that unusual peak over forty years ago on drives up to St. Helens but never went over to investigate - you have solved the mystery. well done and nice pics, too.

For sale

Mountain has been for sale since June, 2011 The Columbian is so late in their article and they list the incorrect height as well.

Re: For sale

I don't know that the article is late just because the land has been for sale since June. As stated in the article, it was originally put up at $1.4M [in June]. The article was probably spurred into existence by the Eklund person quoted in the article selling the property. A mutual back scratching. But who knows.

Anyway, I just found out about the mountain being for sale today when Terri Eklund sent me an email.

As for the height, it states the mountain is 1400 feet tall. This would be true for its rise above the valley to the west, which sits at 600 ft above sea level.

Re: For sale

Was reduced price to 750,000 in June when being sold by equitygroup (guess it was reduced by 50,100 now)and the article states "1,400-foot-tall Tumtum". Not stated as above from the valley below. They are just quoting an old research paper from 1968 instead of investigating more. Seems to be an article for the real estate agent instead of an actual news article.
