I thinkyou need a bigger back pack, Eric.
Just kidding of course, but it sure looks like you're carrying everything for the whole family.
More power to you,
cheers,
Marc

Re: I thinkActually, that is a 6,000 cu in pack! And it was stuffed to the max! I thought I might need a bigger one too, but after talking with others, there's no way to avoid some weight for a 10 day trip. It weighed 72 lbs at the start. This picture is about 3 miles into our trip. I lost 10 lbs on that trip! Thanks for the observation, because it does look too little.

Only my opinion ...Eric - you need some of the "family members"
to help you out with transporting this stuff.
Example:
Suppose you had to bend over to pick up a snake? How would you be able to perform this
task when the kitchen sink is on your back ??
: )))))

Re: Only my opinion ...Well, I gotta be able to cook the snake somehow....right? Luckily the Highline Trail across the Uintas is high enough that there are many snake. Throughout the trip, I only took that thing off twice a day: lunch and when we hit camp.

Re: Only my opinion ...You should go back packing with me. I hardly ever carry more than 40-45 pounds, and that includes a bear canister, tent, and cooking stuff for a four day trip.
By the way, I was kidding about you needing a bigger back Pack. 6000 Cu In is more that anyone should carry.
As far as Larry's snake dinner goes, I heard it tastes just like chicken. Yummy.
