| Climbed with Andre. Having ascended via the north west ridge and descended via Farewell Gap, the north west ridge is by far the better ascent route. The route from Farewell Gap is a talus schlog. | |

| It was a fairly miserable talus slog, but the great views at the top were an excellent reward. | |

| Been backpacking in White chief for most of my life - always wanted to stand on this summit. Russ and drove up from Fresno/Clovis around 4:00 to make the trailhead by 7:00 and summit by 11:30. It was great to stand on top! | |

| Great dayhike from Mineral King via Farewell Gap with Jason and Jon. I was really impressed with the great views of the other Mineral King peaks, the Kaweahs, the Whitney group and the Golden Trout Wilderness. | |

| Camped at ~9450' and headed up to Farewell Gap the next day. From there climbed up the talus to the summit. Skied from near the summit down towards White Chief Bowl, but there wasn't enough snow. Skied the slopes to the south, climbed back up to the summit and skied slopes to the southeast and back around to Farewell Gap. Terrible suncups back down to camp. Great views! | |
