Hasn't voted | Great shot, Bob- this pic allows me to visualize the commitment & exposure (& excitement!) of this route. I definitely want to do it now! | | Posted Jul 22, 2003 12:18 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Diggler, I climbed the Northeast Ridge this weekend under very ugly weather conditions. Even so, I think it is a great route. Peter Croft, in his recent book (I think it's called "The Good, the Great, and the Awesome"), describes the Northeast Rdge as the best class 4 climb in the Sierra. | | Posted Jul 22, 2003 12:39 pm |

Hasn't voted | I've read about the route in that book (great book, too!). Also a great initiative provider (Croft's endorsement means it's gotta be great, it would seem!) | | Posted Jul 22, 2003 1:26 pm |

Hasn't voted | I thought it was a fun climb, but think Croft is taking literary license in calling it the best class 4 climb in the Sierra. I climbed the route on Norman Clyde's description of it as "an enjoyable climb" which he attaches to about a hundred routes in the Sierra.
I would rate the class 4 route from Humphreys' NW Notch to the summit a better one than this, for example. | | Posted Jul 22, 2003 8:51 pm |

Hasn't voted | Bob, David misquoted a bit. Croft writes (page 141, The Good, The Great, and The Awesome) that "This is one of the very best Class 4 routes in the High Sierra." | | Posted Sep 19, 2006 8:29 pm |
