Overview of the approach to White Chuck Glacier from the White Pass area. Perspective is from above Glacier Gap on July 30, 2001. An approximation of the route proposed by Fred Beckey (my confused path indicated in magenta) is juxtaposed with the more enjoyable Foam Creek route by which I returned. Once at the S side of the White Chuck Glacier, the standard route proceeds up to Glacier Gap via the relatively narrow valley that is visible at the bottom of this image. [ Larger version (419kb) ]
