The small group of Monti Rudo ( Dolomiti di Sesto ) is one of the wildest of the whole dolomitic range and its summits are almost never climbed. During the WWI this group was an important stronghold of the Austrian Army, that could control from there a vast area of this part of the dolomitic frontline.
The views from Monti Rudo are really exceptional, especially to the Tre Cime and the Tre Scarperi group.
This pictures have been taken on a long, hot summer day of July, following old military paths of the First World War.
