West Face of Kings / South Kings | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
View on the way up the SW Ridge of Wilson. The summit in the foreground right is Tungsten Peak a.k.a. East Wilson, 24th highest in Utah at 12,779 ft el but looking so small amidst the surrounding giants. It will be our next goal, number 5 for the day.

Hasn't voted | Thanks Tomek! The sheer scale of these alpine tundra basins was very impressive. There should be more pictures soon and hopefully a TR in a few days too | | Posted Sep 12, 2008 1:53 pm |

Voted 10/10 | I've been a member of this site for over a
year, and I've viewed thousands of photos.
I've seen both "weiners" and winners.
This photo is definitely the latter.
And, it looks like you'd need a ladder to
reach some of these high places. Awesome.

Voted 10/10 | Looking at this beautiful picture I'd forgotten about, I hereby solemnly declare that MOCKBA is right that his beloved Uintas are an inseparable(perhaps just a little bit drier:)) part of the Rockies, whose tops--if not bare--are overgrown by what we should normally call alpine tundra.

BTW Have Happy Holidays and great fun skiing over Uinta's fantastic - hope you don't mind this word in this context - DRY snow! | | Posted Dec 24, 2008 1:10 pm |
