Approach
This more strenuous approach starts at the Old Lime Creek Rd Campground. A few miles north of Purgatory Ski Area there is a sharp right turn, just after this turn is a sign for Old Lime Creek Road. Take this right turn and follow the bumpy dirt road a few miles down to a campground right on Lime Creek. This is the start of the approach. From this camp there is no trail and the route ascends over 5,000 vertical feet in only a couple of miles.
Route Description
From the campground, cross Lime Creek and pick your path through the dense brush. Once above the heavy undergrowth, work your way to the ridge running up to between Twilight and South Twilight. Ascend this ridge, working your way through heavy trees until treeline. From treeline things get better. Climb up the straightforward talus slopes to the summit which is hidden behind a falsey. I made the unfortunate mistake of climbing this route and I could not recommend it to anyone I liked. It is tedious and more or less unenjoyable until the summit and the view!
Essential Gear
During the summer months no special gear is required. Come ready for a long day. During Winter and Spring months this is a large avalanche path, and I would not recommend it.
