Red Rock Canyon, Nevada in wintertime

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is located a few miles west of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Wintertime offers perhaps the most dramatic scenery of all seasons there. The striking peaks covered with snow offer a great contrast to the lower areas of the Mojave Desert which is abundant with cacti, yuccas and Joshua Trees. However even the desert floor sometimes does get the dusting of snow.
Red Rocks Panorama

Winter in Red Rocks is a good time to hike around the desert (not to the sandstone peaks; come back when the snow is gone for that), enjoy the vistas and spend time watching wildlife.

The Scenic Loop (one-way road) opens at 6 a.m and closes at 5 p.m this time of the year. The Visitor Center and Book and Gift Store opens at 8:00 a.m and closes at 4:30 p.m.

Enjoy your visit, enjoy my photos and feel free to attach yours here!
