Nice picture but...

.. yellow color too much artificially reenforced.

I didn't realize you were standing next to me. What you see is what was there.

Re: Nice picture but...

It is often people say this about photos of Colorado's stunning aspens. People need to see it in person to believe it. You often hear comments of "Colorado Gold" just being yellow everywhere and it doesn't seem like it would be that spectacular. But when people see it in person, then they understand how spectacular it really is, and rarely does the photographer have to embellish anything. Having been to the San Juans many times and taken pictures from the Last Dollar Road, I can assure anyone that there was no "reinforcement of yellow" required in Todd's photo.

The following picture is dark (submitted long ago before I had mastered my Corel software), but you'll get the idea, even in the thumbnail. The photo is of the same mountain, shot from Highway 145.

This photo was taken just a few weeks ago in the Elks. No embellishments were used:

Re: Nice picture but...

Olivier, I echo what Aaron and Mark have said. These are indeed the colors of Fall around here. In fact, for the eye used to Colorado landscapes, I think the most intriguing feature of this picture is the transition from the snowy peak to the snow-free lower slopes, which confers a nice diachronic effect: winter is already on the summits, but Fall lingers in the valley.

Magic

As Velebit said.

And Aaron is right.
One look at this image and I immediately bagan to pine for the Rockies and the experience he speaks of.

Do not forget the crisp Aspen scent!
