An annual summer tradition  Sucess!

Started at North Fork. Two guys with bikes at the top. Almost everyone else came from Ogden divide. Long day, but worth it for the views!

Ben Lomond via Cutler Creek Trail  Sucess!

Easy hike to the top. Was joined by my brother Payton, and we cruised to the top in just about 2 hours via Cutler Creek trail. Saw a big ol' moose along the way, too. We didn't get a start until 12pm, so it was nice and toasty, but the winds along the ridge were nice and pleasant.

Via North Fork  Sucess!

Climbed Ben Lomond from North Fork with Kaden Robinson and Liam Grover. Summited in 3 Hours 40 Minutes. Beautiful route. Very cold and windy on the summit pyramid. Great day with great dudes!

Ben Lomond VII  Sucess!

My seventh summit of Ben Lomond, and my third solo ascent of it. I didn't summit until just after sunset, but it was still pretty. Super cold and almost a foot of snow from around the saddle up. I spent maybe 15 minutes on the summit and couldn't handle the wind any longer. Very icy on top. I climbed it last year on October 29th and there was only maybe a few inches of snow, nothing compared to this.

Ben Lomond VI   Sucess!

This was an attempt for Willard Peak with Jake Griffin. Since he only did Ben Lomond last time and I went on to Willard Peak solo he felt he missed out and wanted to get the county highpoint with me this time. It was a failure to summit Willard as we reached the summit of Ben Lomond and he decided he was satisfied with that once again. We at least hiked down to the northern saddle of Ben Lomond just to go a little further for fun, and it was fun. We then turned around, summited Ben Lomond once more and started the descent well after the sunset.

Ben Lomond V  Sucess!

I took my friend Jake Griffin to the summit of Ben Lomond, as he's always wanted to reach the top since he's been looking up at it for 21 years. He was satisfied with Ben Lomond, but I wanted to reach the county highpoint for the second time and pushed on solo to Willard Peak. This took me longer than I thought, and I got back to the summit of Ben Lomond right before dark where Jake was waiting. He was very cold and wanted to descend immediately as I got there but I made him wait probably an hour while I rested and took in the view once more. I saw at least two dozen goats, many deer and bats. We got down around 1 A.M. On another note, this climb took place exactly one year after I summited King's Peak on 8/4/18

Ben Lomond IV  Sucess!

We hit Ben Lomond on the way to Willard Peak and then again on the way back down. I was with Brek Grover and my friend Parker Harris. There was actually still a lot of snow for nearly being July. We saw four rattlesnakes of different colors and 8 gopher snakes. I saw one of the largest grouse I've seen and some fat squirrels. It was a very long day, taking almost 11 hours!

Ben Lomond III  Sucess!

I decided I needed to summit something before flying back south to my grandma's house in Oklahoma at 3:00 A.M. the next morning. This was my third ascent of the mountain and my second solo ascent. I started late and got down a little after 11 P.M. having hardly any time to sleep at all. I remember a bit of snow that I had to find my way through on the east face, which was worse coming down in the dark. I watched the sunset from the summit

Insane Day  Sucess!

We climbed Ben Lomond from Ogden Canyon. There was a lot of snow even though we approached it from the south. We had a lot of fun glissading down a bunch of different snowfields. The snow got really sketchy on the last approach. Realistically we needed an ice axe and crampons to traverse across but picked our lines carefully and managed to summit with just microspikes. Definitely not recommended, though. Awesome views from the top and well worth it though. A total of about 5500 feet of gain and 18 miles.

Via North Ogden Divide  Sucess!

Summited twice, once on the way to Willard Peak and then again on the return. Tons of snow and snakes. On the ridge line between Ben Lomond and Willard Peak we saw 8 gopher snakes and 4 rattlers! All ranging above 9 thousand feet and hanging out very near snow. Very fun but long day! Climbed with Kaden Robinson and his friend Parker.

Awesome Day  Sucess!

There was still tons of snow even in June on the southern facing standard route so it made for a long and sketchy day. Beautiful views the whole day and especially from the top. It's not advisable to do this peak without crampons and an ice axe but you can manage with microspikes if you don't mind traversing down into a steep loose gully and up steep snow to gain the southwest facing ridge to the summit. Fun day with great people in the end!

Ran up with Grant Guise from New Zealand  Sucess!

Had a fun run up with Grant. Still a decent bit of snow on the summit approach which made things interesting. We didn't see anyone else anywhere near the summit. Great views and perfect weather. Ran down quick but easy controlled in about 55 minutes.

Tried to do Willard in the same day  Sucess!

No problem getting to the top of Ben Lomand, but Willard is a whole different story. Too much altitude loss after Ben Lomand and the trying to regain ascending Willard on slippery footing with no trail. No goats today but did see a marmot.
