Traverse of Flat top, Hallett and Otis and decend down Andrews Glacier to the Loche. Was a very rewarding day since all my regular climbing buddies were working and couldn't do anything more technical. Turned out to be a great day in the mountains.
fun hike to the top from Flattop.
Easy enjoyable summit with nice views
As a trio-Flattop/Hallett/Otis
Fun warmup to acclimatize for 14ers
pretty soggy in mid afternoon, but avoided the wet slides
Denver Trail Heads. We went over Flattop on the way to Hallett. The pace was pretty swift. We left Bear Lake around 9AM and reached the summit before noon. It rained a little on the way back down, but it's all good in the Park.
From Flattop. Turned around because of the wind, rather than continuing to Otis. Trip report.
Nice winter hike up wind-scoured rocks combined with a good ski down boilerplate snow of the north bowl of Flattop
My son and I climbed Hallett as a warm up for Long's 2 days later. It was beautiful weather and great views
From Flattop to Hallet and down on Andrews glacier. An awesome descent. There was a lot of snow and we glisade all the way down to the timberline. Halfway we passed a herd of bighorn sheep. Andrews glacier is a very pristine place and I regret we didn't spend more time in that corner of the NP.
Many of the major peaks in the park are visible from the summit. Started early and didn't see many people until the descent. Met some nice Canadians on top.
wow!!! What a great climb!!!
Flattop Mtn + Hallett Peak + Andrews Glacier
Climbed it from Flattop. Still a lot of snow down low and a couple of big patches on Flattop, brought ice axe but didn't need it. Oh yeah and the register needs a new pen!! It leaked, I still have ink on my hands and it's been a week!
Great snow climb up the Tyndal. Camped at Dream Lake the night before and then hauled our gear up to Hallett. Beautiful cirque!
Passed over the summit during a three week backpacking tour of the Continental Divide.
Nice hike thru Taylor Peak.
