07/15 w/Cory Martin
Started around 5:30AM. Trail already carved out to Sky Pond. Crampons and ice axe helpful for bottom of couloir. Sun warmed the upper section. Lots of loose snow avalanches seen on Taylor Peak, Taylor Glacier, and Powell Snowfields during ascent. Followed Continental Divide to climb Taylor, Otis, Hallett, and Flattop as well. Back at car around 3:45PM.

Started around 6:30AM. Pretty dry below treeline. More snow accumulation above treeline, but mostly windswept. No need for any traction. Back at car around 1:15PM.
Started around 6:15AM. Lots of snow and wind today. Trail was completely solid, so no need for snowshoes. Crampons were nice, but not necessary above treeline. Back at car around 12:45PM.
Beautiful weather and a fun route. Too bad it was mostly destroyed in a major rockfall in 1999.
Twisted my knee on the boulder field during the descent which kept me from climbing the next day. Luckily, it was fine after one day of rest.
Also climbed Yellow Spur in Eldorado Canyon.
Made a roundtrip from Bear Lake Trailhead via Otis (east ridge), Hallett and Flattop. Clear and sunny, but strong and cold wind on the summit. Great day though :)
Taking photos for glacier research in RMNP
CMC trip. This was my second time on Hallett. We got Otis first, then headed over to Hallett, since the sky was looking good. There were a few other hikers on the summit. Hallett was a popular peak this day. Descended to Bear Lake via the Flattop Trail.
Great class 2 climb. Amazing views from the top!
Continental Divide traverse from Flattop to Powell and back down Flattop trail to Bear Lake. Second time up Hallett, it was actually my first Colorado peak some 12 years ago! Cool to re-visit.
Climbed this after Otis and checking out the Andrews Glacier. The summit isn't really cool. The business side of the peak is the east side, well below the summit
Fun hike! We did a loop up Tyndall glacier and then descended via standard route to Flattop.
Cool climb! I did it before the lower section fell off making it harder.
Great trek. If you hike to Flattop Mountain press on to Hallett Peak and enjoy the wider perspective/view.
Traverse of Flat top, Hallett and Otis and decend down Andrews Glacier to the Loche. Was a very rewarding day since all my regular climbing buddies were working and couldn't do anything more technical. Turned out to be a great day in the mountains.
fun hike to the top from Flattop.
Easy enjoyable summit with nice views
