Krishna Cutoff  Sucess!

With Adam. Snow in the upper portion was sugary and insecure, so last pitch was mixed, using bits of firm snow and rock along the right edge of the couloir. Good belay stance on the right, about 200 feet from the summit. Fun day!

Flattop to Chiefs Head Traverse  Sucess!

Quick hike up from Flattop, picked the wrong day as there were over 200 youth group members heading up. Eww, though that was the last I saw them.

Second time on this summit. Winter is definately nicer though.
Alot of people down at Bear Lake but everyone cleared out the further up I went. Weather was OK, not great.

Summited Hallett after traversing over Flattop mountain. The weather was unbelievably mild and allowed for some great views on the other RMNP peaks.

Route Climbed: Flattop Trail via the Dragon's Tail Couloir  Sucess!

We (rkymtn) had an enjoyable outing on what was a beautiful day. The climb to the top of Hallett was easy compared to the couloir to get there. The Tyndall Glacier was impressive (by Colorado standards) in my opinion.

Route Climbed: Flattop Trail via the Dragon's Tail Couloir  Sucess!

After topping out on the Dragon's Tail Couloir, Halku and I decided that we'd hit both Flattop's summit and Hallett's. The weather was great and this second summit was the icing on the cake. it was great to see Tyndall Glacier from Flattop and scope options for ascents in the future.

Flattop Trail June 1966  Sucess!

Total ascents to the summit = 3. First time via Flattop Trail, 2nd time from the Longs Peak Ranger Station on the Glacier Gorge Traverse, 3rd time via the East Ridge from the Lake Haiyaha Trail. I've also done the 2nd Buttress route a couple of times and Hallett Chimney, twice.

Via Flattop Trail  Sucess!

I climbed Hallet, Otis, Flattop, and Ptarmigan Point solo and was jogging down the Flattop trail when I decide it was getting too rocky to keep jogging. As I changed pace, I tripped. I picked myself up, put a bandaid on my bleeding chin, wrapped an ace bandage on my right thigh where it was bruised, and rubbed my right wrist were it hurt. I hiked the rest of the way to the parking lot and drove my stick shift car home before I realized that my right arm was broken.

Via Flattop Mountain  Sucess!

This was the first peak I climbed in Colorado since I wanted to start out on something with a little less elevation than a 14er. There was beautiful scenery all around of Rocky Mountain National Park, especially with all of the lakes in the area. Lots of snow on Flattop slowed our group down a bit. Upon reaching the summit I saw Longs Peak and made it my goal to climb that peak as well.
