Let me make a feeble attempt to rise
above the noise and confusion. The Mojave
Yucca, pictured here, must not be confused
with the Banana Yucca. The Banana Yucca
grows much closer to the ground, and its
colouration is more blue than green.
Also, I am looking north toward the TH for
Brownstone Canyon. This is not to be
confused with Brownstone Wall, which is on
the south side of Juniper Peak.
Calico Basin is the starting point for accessing Red Spring and Brownstone Canyon.
Brownstone Canyon is part of the
47,000 acre La Madre Wilderness Area.
Let your curiosity and inspiration guide
you to the various rock formations along
this route. There are many perfect spots
to picnic, and many shelters and overhangs
where you can escape from the ruthless
sun. The choice is yours! Just be sure to
gobble down your Snickers Bar before it
melts!! View is looking north toward
Calico Basin in Southern Nevada on 04-06-2008.
