walk over it on traverse
rain and fog for most of traverse, but warm sun on way down
I love this ridge trails
Bad weather, but they look's like a great day hike.
This is a good hike for mixed-fitness groups: beginners will be happy to clear treeline on Little Haystack, those with stronger legs can enjoy the loop over Lincoln and lafayette.
The side trip to Shining Rock is worth it.
Smaller than its neighbors, but doesn't disappoint!
Went on by during the Lafayette, Lincolon, Little Haystack ridge traverse. Falling Waters section was darn cool.
Beautiful exposed ridge line, lots of above tree line travel, little scrambling...
grabbed this while battling wind and clouds during a thruhike. very memorable!
Nice to finally be on the ridge. Shining rock was gorgeous. Now for the ridgewalking...
First summit was Little Haystack, then crossed over and summited Mount Lincoln and then Mount Lafayette and then headed down along the Old Bridle Path. We climbed it in a snow storm with winds up to 90 MPH (actually I don't know what the wind speed was-but it was incredible).
Coming down the Falling Waters Trail is a nice way to end the 9 mile loop.
Fun hike ... incredible views.
I think this was my 6th mountain ever. Fallings Waters is a beautiful trail in the summer and winter.
Came over on the "knife edge" from Lincoln. Had a nice snack at the summit and then headed down the Falling Waters Trail and enjoyed the views of the waterfalls on the way down.
I think this was my first mountain ever. When I was 16, a friend and I practically ran up the Falling Waters trail to the summit. Since then, I've climbed it many times.
