Lyskamm Traverse

Lyskamm Traverse

One of the most gorgeous mountains I've ever climbed. Two fantastic summits, joined by an endless knife-sharp ridge...a truly awesome climb (from what I could see of it when I could take my eyes off my feet!)

Re: Breathtaking ...

Yeah, there was not too much opportunity to enjoy the views...but I think it was better that way..not looking down and all!

Re: And the weather!

You bet...I had a huge blast! It all came together perfectly that day...including the weather, for once.

Whoa!

I bet it's easy to fall there with views like that!

Re: classic

Thanks so much! Yes, this still stands as my most favorite climb of all time. Your pics of Pequeño Alpamayo are absolutely fantastic, that climb must have been just super!

those tracks

leading off the cornices don't seem too promising...

Thanks for sharing your excellent collection of pictures with us! Did you succeed at Imja Tse?

Re: those tracks

Nope, you are right those tracks were not too promising but a real yipeeee of a climb! As for Imja Tse, close but no cigar. Got to just under 6,000 m but, what I later learned was bronchitis, turned me back...but I huffed and puffed as far as I possibly could! No matter, can't win them all...a beautiful mountain and excellent trip regardless!
