A hike to the highest dome in the Yosemite High Country
Mariuolumne Dome and the Yosemite High Country north Mariuolumne Dome, 9,970', got it's name from the fact that the Mariposa and Tuolumne County lines cross it. It is quite popular with climbers and that is well covered in Steve Larsons page in the previous link. The hike is a short scramble only a few miles from Hwy. 120 with excellent views of Tuolumne Meadows, the Sierra Crest and the Tenaya Lake area.
On the way down I went over to a small highpoint (Dome 9,880') which offered another perspective on the marvelous scenery of this area of the Yosemite High Country.
