Sloshy walk up the High Point Trail. First of hopefully a few HPs on this trip!
My personal halfway mark with the state highpointing. Simple, not-too-difficult drive to the summit parking lot. Very green summit. I noticed a day later that the views are similar to Spruce Knob's in West Virginia.
Peaceful drive in the country to get to this one. Not heavily commericalized. Cold at the top.
My home state Highpoint, sunny pleasant day
Got a flat tire on the drive to the trailhead, so took the easy way up since I'd already run out of daylight. Pranced around the rocks near the lookout tower to make sure I got the right one, then jogged back to the car to keep on driving. State HP #18
Was a misty/rainy day so very peaceful
Memorial Day roadtrip ... mission was to check off 3 highpoints ... PA, MD, and WV.
The drive from Coal Center, PA up, and then out through the farm lands was really very pretty, especially this time of year. Tower up top had worthy views. Nice area up there though, well done with lots of history and info. 1st of 4 HP's on this quick appalachian trip.
Beautiful day after paddling local rivers in the area
Overcast and not much in the way of views. Part #1 of today's HP trifecta. My Dad's 4th HP.
Tagged this passing through the area on the way to Ohio.
The access road from the south is not, but from the north is paved.
Hiked up from the picnic area. The trail was really wet in places, but not unavoidably so. Nice historical/geological displays at the top, and the view from the tower was good.
drove to the top, climbed the tower
First stop on a multi day hiking/peak bagging trip. Great views. State HP #27
Set out for GeoWoodstock in Boonsboro, Md and stopped by to "climb" my first highpoint. I was able to drive fairly close and I actually climbed to the top of the observation tower to take a pic. Beautiful area here!
Snowshoe loop from picnic area using several trails/unplowed roads. Beautiful sunny 20 degree day and all to ourselves. Highpoint #26.
Nice area, decent hiking trails around the area
Stick with your planned route. We took some scenic back roads on the way there and ended up driving on a pretty intense gravel trail. But we survived to tell the tale of a beautiful High Point!
