HP #4
I (with my wife (Tracy) and son (Alex), then almost 2 yrs old) did this as part of our first family HP trip.
Yes, we did it as a drive up! There are great views from the observation tower.

I Like The Observation Tower!!!
I really enjoyed the views from the summit Observation Tower. I took photos at the heavily-dented, boulder-mounted U.S. Geological Society disk, as well. Nice hikes all around the area, including an interpretive section.
This was the third of seven HPs (plus Washington, D.C.) I would reach in two days' time. HP #27 for me.
Drove to the top after a long day on the highway from NYC. Managed to get to the top right at sunset. Hiked around a bit before finding the USGS marker and climbing the tower. Great view from the top, but I think I enjoyed driving through the little villages more than the summit. After a night in a hotel headed to Backbone and Spruce Knob the next morning...with a short stop at the smallest church in the lower 48.

HP #9
Drove to this Highpoint. I've seen much better views in my lifetime, but it is still a highpoint nonetheless. Glad to have this one done.

Best Drive To
This has got to be one of the best drive-to summits. In fall the color was great and the Amish countryside made for a feel of a place back in time. We drove the full circle around the summit before returning to rat race interstate.

Snowdrifts
Stopped by on our way skiing. Pretty good snow dump the night before: 1 - 2 feet blocked the trail. With snowshoes we might have made it, but no such luck.

Pretty in the snow
Just realized the date of my ascent: 1/1/01! Anyway the HP pf my home state of Pennsylvania.
The tough part of this is finding the back road to take you to the parking lot. From the parking lot it is just a short hike to the fire tower, and a nice view of the relatively flat, but rolling hills of central Pennsylvania.

Mt Davis
Did the highpoint of my home state on a vacation trip with my parents. The only real memory I have from the mountain was getting a flat tire on the top and having to change it.

Nice road trip
A pleasant day for a road trip to western PA. A little hazy and warm, but a great day to be outside, none the less.
