DECALIBRON
Part of a 10 day 18 14,000 ft. summit solo climbing trip.

Route: East Ridge
Another first for me: I was sick all the way from the saddle to the summit. Had a few shots the night before and it wasn't pretty. Another lesson learned the hard way. Not even sure I looked around when I got to the summit.

morning walks
A roommate and I drove over from our house above Alma and made the Kite Lake loop a few times last summer. Always a blast, though usually crowded. Had to bust out with some crazy ninja tactics, as the wealthy mining claim owners stand guard with shotguns. Watch out.

A fun start to the Kite Lake Loop.

Route Climbed: From Kite Lake
We camped at the lake and six of us climbed up the rocky trial. We took photos of three generations of my friends, the McCullough's, in the old wooden structure on the summit. We were intending on also climbing Lincoln and Bross that day, but the gathering clouds altered our plans and we returned to camp with one memorable summit.
Route Climbed: Democrat-Lincon-Bross via Kite Lake Date Climbed: April 2005
Went out for a little solo manajatwa action (If that make sense) Well bagged Democrat in a jiffy. On my way to Lincoln I started to suffer for my speedy ascent and lack of acclimatization. On top of the gully I decided to nix Lincoln and head strait for Bross. After picking up one more peak for the day I beelined it back down to Kite-Lake. All in all a successful trip.
I think that's when I climbed it? Not sure, bad with dates!
Route Climbed: East face Date Climbed: August 1997
The best part of doing this trio of mountains is the time spent at high altitude. About 5 other people at the summit with me. Nice day, not too hot. That's about it.
Route Climbed: SW Ridge variation Date Climbed: Feb 15, 2005
We climbed a very frozen section of snow just to the north of the SE Ridge route. The slope measured between 35-40 degrees, and was very solid. This made a nice snow climb. I would carefully consider the snowpack when taking this route.
