Via the standard DeCaLiBro route.
From Kite Lake. Nice hike, some lingering patches of snow. A guy that was on the summit was also on Shavano three days later!
Climbed this 14er the morning after my buddies and I were turned down mount tabeguache due to thunderstorms and hail. Was a beautiful clear night, saw about 6 shooting stars. We were up at 2 and were hiking by 3 since we had to catch a plane back to New York that day. It was really very serene, we ended up just hikin up the right face of the mountain (same side where trail goes) but more towards the middle. Great intro hike for the 14ers, also really fun at night.
Windy, ice and snow.
Climbed all four peaks on the 4th of July
First fourteener of the year, nice scramble, we were the first to sign the log at the summit, only made to to Mt. Cameron before having to turn back for weather.
Heard rumors of a ban by the owners. Decided to head up there anyways. Found 1 little sign on the porta potty at the Kite Lake Trailhead but found plenty of other people hiking up. Wanted to do the 4 mountain circuit was it was quite windy and cold so did just Democrat.
Had planned for Democrat, Lincoln, and Bross, but got chased off of Cameron by lightning.
Climbed this one with Old Guide as part of our annual summer father & son 14er climb. Beautiful weather early in the day which built into the normal summer storm clouds.
Started out with an ascent of Mt. Buckskin, at 5:00am, then returned to Kite Lake and did 'The Decalibron II' route. Perfect weather, great views from up there. Got 5 in 1 day; a 13,865' peak & 4 14ers. Not bad for a Monday!
Kite lake start in late september. About an inch of snow on the ground. Made the hike to democrat with no real problems, only blowing snow. Descended to the saddle and headed up Cameron. We arrived on top to a 60mph blizzard. since everyone had already done lincoln, we moved towards bross, but couldnt see the broad ridge in the whiteout, so we followed our tracks back down to the saddle and to the car.
This was my second time up with the standard DLB combo. Kite Lake is a great place to camp!
92 a good year for me and the Dems!
Trifecta was perfecta!
Was trying for the trifecta but got blown off by bad weather. I hope that girl that was still heading up in the lightning is still alive.
Made the trip round the horn, Lincoln > Cameron > Democrat > Bross. Had to park 2-3 miles from the trailhead for fear of my car which made for the day being a little longer.
My wife and I did the Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln, and Bross cirque with our dog, Boomer, to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. Great weather day!
Climbed this group my 1st summer of peak bagging. Fire restrictions had cut access to these peaks until the end of July. As soon as they lifted the restrictions I went right for them, afraid they would shut them down again before I could bag them. Started from Kite Lake.
Depending on whether or not you consider Mt. Cameron a 14er, we completed Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln, and Bross. There was still enough snow on Bross for a small glisade.
