Highpoint #2
Got my 2nd highpoint in April 2018, about a 3 hour drive from Southern Rhode Island. Cold, windy day with a lot of snow still on the ridge. Very foggy so didn't get any view. Thought the summit tower was neat, but it's not open at this time of the year.
The approach through the woods was nice and we enjoyed the pond just before the “summit” but the noise from the road gave us a glimpse into the zoo that awaited us at the top of the hill. Noisy and obnoxious place.

0.75 miles, from the Y on Notch Road/
Without planning to do so, strictly speaking I stood on the highpoint of Massachusetts the evening of August 29, 2019 which technical makes it my official summit date. However, since I deliberately hiked to the peak and spent half an hour there on August 30, that date is more special to me and feels like my genuine summit date.
August 30, 2019 - Drove up Notch road to where it Y's - one leg of Y goes to summit other is main Notch road. Parked there and walked up the 0.75 miles to the summit along the AT (trail) to watch the sunrise.

HP #1!
First one of the journey!
To date now, have climbed this twice, during summer and fall.
Farmland type views from the summit.
I highly suggest going to the top of the glass tower, and looking through the panoramic views on all sides to see all the surrounding area(s)

Parked a ways down from the summit and took the trail up. Very nice views and summit area...lots of tourists on top. Seems like a very nice mountain for these parts.

Great Views!!! My 2nd summit of Greylock was along my AT hike in August 2017 and I stayed at the top in the Bascom Lodge, great hiker rate, shower and breakfast (best blueberry muffins I've ever eaten), if you don't stay there, go in and check out the beautiful work done by the CCC!
