Features

The lightweight AKU Men's Spider Kevlar GTX Boots are really good at keeping your feet warm and dry in extreme conditions and, at the same time, grant the best performance on severe technical terrain. The Italian-made Spiders have super durable uppers. The Gore-Tex XCR liners allows breathing but don't let water into your boots thus keeping feet dry. Insulation keeps feet toasty and frostbite-free.
An asymmetrical tongue reduces the amount of material pressing on your foot, which ensures good circulation and allows for excellent ankle articulation with perfect support.
AKU Spider GTX was designed and tested for extreme mountaineering. Developed in cooperation with the renowned Ragni di Lecco ( Spiders of Lecco) mountaineering group this boot is AKU’s masterpiece.
The boot is crampon compatible and it has been designed for all surface types (rock, ice, mixed terrain) and extreme temperatures down to -25 C°.
The uppers are made from Kevlar + microfibre, which lightens the boot drasticly. To increase strength and to hold the boot in place, it has been added an injection moulding of a plastic web-type construction running through the Kevlar upper.

Great boot.
I've these boots since one year now and I'm really happy about them.
The upper material (kevlar + microfibre) not only makes the boot very light but also very flexible and smooth.
Used them for mountaineering and waterfall ice climbing as well as for approaches. No complains. I'm really satisfied of the AKU Spiders.
As JFox said they are not quite popular and this is a pity because they are great boots.

I have them too.....
....after using for years SCARPA and La Sportiva boots tried the AKU's Spiders.
And love them. Incredibly warm and quite light show their best when things are difficult. Pretty nice when ice climbing.
The asymmetrical tongue is fully adjustable (with a numbered scale to move it up and down / left to right ) and it is very comfortable.

Love these boots
Warmest single boot I've used. Comfortable, good sole for step-in crampons. Easy to walk in. Light weight. Lacing system allows for good fit whether cranked down tight or loose.
