Designed specifically for trail running and adventure racing, this Spandura gaiter is built strong and snug to fit over all trail running and hiking shoes. Durable strap and closure system.

Black / Breathable / Form-fitting / 2.5 oz / One Size Fits All

Works well for low-cut approach shoes, not for hiking boots.

These anklets are effective in keeping out pebbles and dirt. They made tolerable, the descent via the gully, south of Snow Creek Wall, a misery of third-class sand, dirt and gravel that awaits climbers of the Outer Space and Orbit routes. I will use them on every approach that takes more than 15 minutes and on every dirty walk-off. They are small and light and fit easily in the pack or even in a shirt pocket. They are just barely too big to put into the zippered pocket of my chalk bag.
The anklet gaiters must be put on before the shoes and can be removed only after taking the shoes off. An elastic drawstring with a stop-button quickly and effectively seals the top. Upon removal, the stop-button is too easily slid right off the string and must then be re-threaded. The drawstring loops can easily be clipped to your harness, perhaps with the same biner used to carry your descent shoes.

The front bottom elastic edge is held down by a hook under a shoelace. So they might not be useful on shoes without laces or with hidden laces. The sides are held down by a strap under the shoe, secured with a Velcro clasp. The Velcro is difficult to thread through the strap. Once closed it is well protected from accidental dislodging. The flat, half-inch, wide strap under the shoe is static; that is non-elastic. It has three threading slots for the Velcro closure but I was able only the use the top, longest option on my size 10.5, low-cut approach shoes; ditto for my running shoes. A longer strap would be better for me. I would like to use these anklets with my hiking boots but the strap is way too short.
The only cloth color, black, is not welcome on a hot day.
