Šášov Castle Hill

Šášov Castle Hill

The ruins of Šášovský hrad (SK) are situated in the narrow cliffy wall named Orlí kameň (Eagle´s crag). The first mention dates back to 1253 as Castrum de Susol. In 1677 it was plundered by Thököly´s army, losing its aim to defend the Hron trading route.
