À environ 4 kilomètres à l'Ouest / Sud-Ouest du Petit Ballon, se trouve la réserve biologique du Langenfeldkopf et du Klintzkopf, dont l'altitude maximale atteint 1330 mètres. Elle protège un oiseau rare, appelé grand tétras ou coq de bruyère. L'accès au sommet du Klintzkopf ne sera possible que du 15 juillet au 15 décembre de l'année en cours. Quant au Langenfeldkopf et ses 1290 mètres, il y est formellement interdit de quitter le seul et unique sentier balisé : le GR532 rectangle jaune !
Approximatively 4 kilometers at the West / South-West of the Small Balloon, you can find the natural reserve of Langenfeldkopf and Klintzkopf. The maximal altitude in this area is reaching 1330 meters. This area is protecting a very rare bird, which is named as capercaillie or grouse. The access at the summital part of the Klintzkopf will only be possible, in a period which is establishing between the 15th july and the 15th december of the current year. In the massive of the Langenfeldkopf with 1290 meters height, it will be strongly forbidden to quit the only one marked path, which is the GR532 marked with yellow rectangles !
