L'arête granitique des Spitzkoepfe surplombe admirablement, deux grandes vallées d'origine glaciaires : celle de la Wormsa au Sud et celle du Wormspel au Nord. Le site s'étend sur une longueur totale de 450 mètres et présente un taux de dénivelé de près de 300 mètres, entre son point bas (1021 m) et son point haut (1290 m). La plus haute falaise atteint 120 mètres, ce qui en fait l'une des plus spectaculaires de tout le massif vosgien. La traversée de la crête est possible, via une très difficile et technique randonnée de montagne. Pour pouvoir mieux se repérer sur le terrain, il vous faudra bien suivre les pastilles peintes en rouge, sur certains arbres et rochers stratégiques. La crête des Spitzkoepfe peut être atteinte de deux manières : par le bas depuis le lac du Schiessrothried (GR 531 rectangle bleu), ou par le haut, depuis les hauteurs du Kastelberg et le sentier des névés (plus jaune). Le site constitue par ailleurs, un véritable paradis, pour les amateurs de sensations fortes et surtout, d'escalade sportive et d'alpinisme ... Dernier point : les Spitzkoepfe sont la maison vosgienne incontestée, des célèbres et sublimes chamois !The granitic rocks of the Spitzkoepfe are dominating very wildly, two big old icy valley, which are the next : the Wormsa at the South and the Wormspel at the North. The site is developping himself on a total length of 450 meters and he's presenting a difference of almost 300 meters, between the lowest point (1021 m) and the highest point (1290 m). The highest cliff is measuring 120 meters : it's one of the biggest and the most spectacular in all the vosgian massive. The complete crossing of the crest is possible, with a very hard and technical hike. For having a better position when you are crossing the crest, you have to search the red rounds which are painted on many strategic trees and rocks. The crest of the Spitzkoepfe is reachable with two main paths : one from below and from the lake of the Schiessrothried (GR 531 path, blue rectangle), or one from above and from the heights of the Kastelberg and the path of the snows (yellow cross). The site is equally a genuine paradise, for the persons who are thrill-seekers and especially, loving mountaineering ... Last important point : the Spitzkoepfe are the vosgian house, of the very famous and fabulous chamois !
