Giving up Andes pages - anybody interested in adoption?

Hi!

For time reasons I am giving up my
- Volcan San Jose
- Volcan Llaima and
- Cajon del Maipo Area pages.

If you are interested in adopting, please PM or post here.

Cheers!
Peter

Hi! There are a couple of moderate priced (5000-7000 Pesos), good hostels in Copiapo. I do not have my list here, but check with the SERNATUR in Copiapo. They are one of the few useful tourist informations in Chile. Here a list of tour organizers: http://www.sernatur.cl/scripts/sitio/destino_servici...

Re: Swiss Climber dies on Aconcagua

Ario, good move, I cannot say much to this. I won´t either to not stretch this discussion ad infinitum. This is going down to personal level, which was not my intention. If people feel offended, I apologize. If somebody feels I pointed at him saying "your are a bad climber!" I apologize. If you feel...

Re: Swiss Climber dies on Aconcagua

Hi George! I agree with what you said about the Swiss. True, the only thing we know is that he should have descended earlier, and he ignored signs. But that is a very important lesson, which some have not learned yet. Diamox could have helped indeed but if he went too high too fast he likely would h...

Re: Swiss Climber dies on Aconcagua

Hi! Before this totally gets out of control and people explain to each other how they meant what they said…. I usually do not participate in message board discussions because they usually go the wrong way and action is more worth than words. However, in this case I did, and in a somewhat provocative...

Re: Swiss Climber dies on Aconcagua

Hello! My post was in no way meant offensive, but indeed as advice for people with little experience heading to to high peaks, that come across the discussion(s) here. Nothing in this post was pointing specifically at anybody except the sentences that stated clearly so. I do not waste my time to onl...

Re: Swiss Climber dies on Aconcagua

A bit off-topic, but: As said, Diamox should NEVER be used as emergency treatment or if symptoms of AMS occur. If you have AMS you descent, period. As emergency treatments Dexamethason and Adalat are more efficent without the (potentially deadly) results that using Diamox has if symptoms are not int...

It was a difficult season this season. We will give it another shot in 2007 the latest.

It is definetely time that Ararat gets a new maintainer!
