On 3/28/2018 by certified mail, I mailed a letter asking for reviewing and correcting of the inaccurate statements enclosed in the Ranger’s Report to the Supervisors Office of Shasta-Trinity NF and its copy to the District Ranger of Shasta McCloud Management Unit.

Headquarters (Supervisors Office)
Terri Simon-Jackson, Acting Forest Supervisor
USDA Service Center
Shasta-Trinity National Forest
3644 Avtech Parkway
Redding, CA 96002
(530) 226-2500

Shasta McCloud Management Unit
Caroyln Napper, District Ranger
Mount Shasta Ranger Station
204 West Alma
Mt. Shasta, CA 96067
(530) 926-4511

A Letter to Headquarters, Terri Simon-Jackson, Acting Forest Supervisor, USDA Shasta-Trinity National Forest

The Postal record shows the letters’ delivery was confirmed by recipients’ signatures on 3/26 and 3/23 respectively. However, so far I’ve not received any response.

Recently, perhaps by a coincident, I’ve met a person who, as he told me, was directly involved in the official Search and Rescue for Charity Stevens, a missing hiker on Mt Shasta in June 2017. According to him Stevens was in the tent and rescued by a helicopter. I asked how he knows she was in the tent and he responded because he was there.

I know about and do not deny the efforts of multiple agencies involved in this search but it does not excuse anyone to cover up their ineffectiveness, alter the facts and give credits not to the one who deserved.

Therefore, I invite anyone who does not agree with my reports to leave their comments here or on the reports’ pages and even better supported with valid (or at least believable) evidence. I’m assuming some pictures or videos should have been recorded by SAR members not just on Misery Hill but also at the time and at the place they (or any of them) actually found Charity Stevens and must somewhere exist. Is not that a standard procedure? :o

clmbr... you are dealing with people and agencies who are not the best and the brightest. If a mentally challenged kid has a different story than you about where the cookie went you aren't going to be able to get to the bottom of it by asking for some valid (or even believable) evidence. These are mentally challenged kids.

That cookie is gone man.

You are right mrchad9.

That was only rhetorical question. Obviously no one can deliver any evidence, even just believable. Not even "Elaine" who magically disappeared from the horizon.

Yes, the cookie may be gone but the story comes back to me and slaps in the face regardless.

Just found this:

"Missing Mount Shasta hiker found"
See Raymond Shevsky's comments below the article.

At least one person, a stranger, had guts to tell the truth.

Just recently learned about another excuse why the helicopters did not rescue Stevens, simply, she did not communicate with helicopters while they were circling about her.

There is so much crap going on. Would not be simpler and more believable to agree on just one versions of BS? Perhaps not. Perhaps Chad is right. There is no perhaps, perhaps is just rhetorical...

A few comments about the dishonestly fabricated Ranger Report reinforced by the video:

I am not sure why you are still worried about this.

Seriously, Clmbr, you've posted three trip reports, two articles, plus this forum page and a Youtube video, all about the same incident. Each time you only make it harder for your readers to understand what's going on - very few people have the patience to read through all your previous work, plus find the latest ranger report or whatever. Just tell your story - tell it complete, tell it in an order that people can understand (if you're not a great writer, stick with chronological order), and that's what Google will find for anybody who is curious.
