He had the best beta on Sierra conditions, and often the best advice on equipment.

There's one thing we've been rather sensitive about lately: the revival of old P and P grudges. That's why the threads were moved to never-never land and Chief was banned from the forum two weeks ago. He will be out for a very, very long time, if not permanently, especially after using a second avatar yesterday to take on another member.

It's a shame we have been pressed to do this the hard way, but we've been through this several times already with him and we’ve had enough.

BTW, that photo of BCS sure brings back memories of some fun times.

Maybe if I worked with him, I could help him find some new grudges; I seem to be good at that.

I am planning. I'm working for the BSA as a guide. Gonna be leading canoeing and backpacking trips in northern Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan.

Isn't neat how we've morphed into a "what have you been doing?" thread?

I'd have done more this week, but my SUBARU needs work. Could that be another thread?

I like that suggestion, as I just come here for the mountain porn anyway.
I'm going to the Winds, Glacier and maybe the North Cascades.

I'll be going top-roping this weekend, nothing to trilling but I plan on experimenting with setting up new anchors. (I'm still a noob and just learning the ways of rock climbing!)

I'll bring back photos, the rocks I'll be on are only 1 mile from my house, lucky me!

In six months we will be marveling at how the days are getting shorter again and wondering where the summer went.

On the one hand, you could be savoring the memories of the great places you went, the people you met, the fantastic experiences you had.

Or, you could be this dude, still seated at his computer and bitterly thinking up ways to sling mud at complete strangers -

Not me to worry about the days getting shorter again Rob. My season for walking the mountains is winter. And Snowdonia has been superb for that again this last winter. Just can't get enough of it.

But I plan to be out there this Spring through Autumn. Doing new routes and new mountains so I can stick to my general solo walking philosophy of "only do a mountain in winter conditions that I have already done in non winter conditions".

Get to see more views like this:

Drag my Fat Ass up more climbs like this:-

And try and beat my vertigo again and repeat doing this ridge, plus more like it:-

Yeah Roll on winter!

Believe it or not, I'm kind of sad to see winter go. I really enjoy the snow and bitter cold.

Magnificent shot. Did that ridge in the foreground a while back, can't remember the name of it though.

Its good to see how you are stepping up your ambitions and kind of walks/climbs Bryan! Snowdonia seems to be an excellent place for that!

I agree on the winter as the best time for going to the mountains, at least here where I live. In the summer it's too fugging hot, even if some routes have to be made in summer, like the canyons which are filled with water in the winter.
